AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): On the Global Day of Action for Yemen, hundreds of thousand of Yemenis from the governorates of Sa’adah, Taiz, Ibb, Dhamar, Rayma, Al-Dhale, Hajjah, Amran, Al-Baidha, Al-Mahwit, Marib and Al-Jawf took to streets on Monday to denounce the ongoing war and siege of the Saudi-led coalition on Yemen and the US terrorist designation of Ansarullah.
Under the slogan “the US blockade and aggression are terrorist crimes,” the participants raised slogans condemning the US-Saudi war crimes and blockade of Yemen in light of international silence and complicity.
The demonstrators voiced their support for Ansarullah and called on the US administration to reverse the decision.
They also confirmed that Ansarullah is an inseparable part of Yemen and they are determined to defend Yemen against the Saudi-led coalition’s war.
Yemenis say the US decision is not against a specific group, but rather against a nation severely suffering from war and blockade imposed by Washington's allies in the region.
Participants in the protest issued a joint communiqué and described the United States and Saudi Arabia as true symbols of terrorism.
“True terrorism is what the US-Saudi alliance is doing by besieging Yemeni ports and airports. The inclusion of Ansarullah in Washington's list of terrorist organizations is a sign of US defeat in Yemen,” the statement read.
The communiqué noted that the Saudi-led aggression on Yemen is primarily a US project, emphasizing that Washington supports the onslaught, and provides political cover for it.
It added that the Daesh and Al-Qaeda terrorist groups are fighting in Yemen under the auspices of aggressor countries.
“We are not afraid of Americans, and our nation is standing firmly in the face of threats and aggression,” he said.
Trump's administration announced the designation of Ansarullah as a terrorist group on January 11, nine days before new US President Joe Biden took office last Wednesday.
Trump was a staunch ally of Saudi Arabia, offering logistical help and military sales for the kingdom's six-year war on Yemen to dislodge the Ansarullah-led and Sana’a-based National Salvation Government.
At the mass rally in the western coastal city of Hodeidah, the member of the Supreme Political Council Mohammed Ali Al-Houthi denounced the “hostile” decision by the administration of former US President Donald Trump, terming the move as a source of pride for all Yemenis.
During his Monday speech, Al-Houthi noted that the hostile US designation is a source of pride for the entire Yemeni nation, and Yemenis are proud to have caused fear for the United States administration.
He praised Yemeni people for their mass participation in countrywide demonstrations to condemn the blacklisting of Ansarullah, stating that the leader of the movement, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, will remain a great and prominent symbol for Yemen, and the nation will continue to stand by his side.
